Am I a little uneasy about depicting Furries? You know it! I don’t want to inadvertently malign the community because of my preconceptions. I want my figures to be a positive reflection of furry fandom.
Call it the ‘Fursuit of Happiness’. Shyness, inhibitions and social anxieties melt away as you become the thing you are wearing. Just the soft, cuddly, friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and fun fursona you were meant to be. At least for the time you wear the fursuit. Doesn’t seem like such a bad thing.
Are Furries obsessed with sex? Are you? Furries are not any more obsessed with sex than the rest of us. Sure, there are some in the community who are motivated that way but the same could be said of people outside the community. Furries are not unique in this way.
I worked this week without the cameras recording my actions. There wasn’t anything secretive going on. The heads were small and held close to my chest as I worked. Camera would have caught my hands and head blocking the view and not much else. So I made the decision to work undocumented which also gave me more time to work.
The furry heads are a little rough yet but the basic forms are there. They will be completed as I build the fursonas.
I will work on building the Bear this week and go from there.
