When I went back to this head I started in August, I thought it was almost done. I thought all it needed was some detailing and a bit of clean up. Then I started to think more about the play of light and shadow on the surface. I began to build up some areas and shave away others to work with the play of light. I worked to eliminate dead zones so light and shadow would fall evenly along uninterrupted paths. The journey continues.
The wax is a new experience for me. It remains workable indefinitely. Seems both blessing and curse.
