Most of my week was spent preparing and applying glazes to some of the bisque fired closed forms from last week. By Sunday evening, there was enough work ready to fill the kiln. The contents are cooling as I write these words.
The bisque fired closed forms were grouped into four sets, two of which were glazed for this firing. One set is “73” and the other is “39”. Combinations of red-pink-white and green-yellow-green. Both include rare earths. Erbium oxide used in the pink and praseodymium oxide in one of the greens.
The Stoneware Gallery Fall Sale begins Thursday evening. Before then there are boxes to go through, work to photograph and displays to set up. An extra gallery shift this weekend and then take down. I am not counting on doing much glazing between now and next Tuesday. Great if I do but not this week’s priority. In any event, there should be images of the work coming out of the kiln today to post next week.
