The bench evolved in a very organic way. When it came time to get started, using resin no longer made sense. What I needed to do was explore. Plaster and wax are better for that. Resin is for when you know exactly what you want.
I want a bench that has a similar feeling to the bent steel and tubing benches in the local parks but require a structure that can bare a greater load at the 1:6 scale. I reimagined the bench supports as being made of concrete. The larger form will allow the porcelain to be hollow and support the load better in the firing.
I started with wax and then through a few generations in plaster. Still tweaking them.
As always seems to happen when I don’t watch myself, models get bigger. The legs grew many centimetres before I realized it. I went to pose an action figure on an assembled bench and it was like looking at a child sitting in an adult chair. I had a lot of chopping to do.
Worked on adding a few more branches to the trees.
The garniture goes tree – bench – tree – bench – tree or tall – short – tall – short – tall. The figures may cluster on certain bases and be absent from others.
While I am still detailing and contouring them, the bases have reached a point where I can start adding the figures.
I know statistically very few furries can afford the fursuit. My furries might represent a very fluent group.
