The base and stacking modules are moulded but not the side opening, uprights or multi chambers. Twenty five moulds done so far. A third of the way through the lid moulds. Fans and dehumidifier running every night.
Often as not when I split the plaster walls to the edge of the model, bits break away along the seams. Poor quality. Started splitting the walls in the middle and got much tighter seams.
When I said I can make these moulds in about an hour, that wasn’t the whole story. That’s the time from the first section being poured until the mould is complete. In reality there is as much or more time involved in preparation and clean up. Completing four moulds proved to be a good day’s work.
The busy season is fast approaching. I need new work for the shop. I have decided to finish up the lid moulds and leave the remaining modules for two or three weeks while I get some new work made. Will be starting to slip cast in the next couple of days.
