There were two glaze firings this week. The first, which was barely half full and more of a test, helped me make better choices the second time around. The glazes are working together now.
No problems with the Custer/G200 substitution. If anything, the E_Base looks better.
Most of the Ravenscrag tests were drab. The cobalt free black was the exception. The thought of a spoon scraping against the mat surface gave me the shivers. I mixed the same amount of stain into Ravenscrag with 10% whiting. It made for a seamless transition into a shiny, spoon friendly, interior.
Here are five mugs from that second firing. Each represents a set of six glazed to match. There are one or two firings worth of mugs left to glaze this week. Results will be posted next week.
