I’ve reconnected with the wheel in a big way these past few months. It’s starting to feel like I’m making real progress towards getting my skills back and being able to say something original.
Drawing into the thrown forms with the silicone tipped tools has great potential. That said, it will have to wait a few weeks while I get these cups and mugs finished. The 40th Anniversary Customer Appreciation Day at Stoneware Gallery is on April 21st. Just enough time to get them all done.
I’ve added three more polymer glazes to the Steel Cut mix this past week. A cobalt free black, a white and another grey. The heat of the kiln bisque firing helped dry the material quickly. Still in the process of chopping and sieving.
Hope to have a glaze firing ready to go by the end of the week. Decals after that. Onwards I go.
