Using the cat decals a few weeks ago got me thinking about how to do it better. That is what the incised panels are about with these mugs. They create a designated space for the decals.
At first, the panels were treated as floating windows. Those mugs will have clean white areas where the decals go contrasted against a single background glaze. The second set of mugs has the panels incised in bands which will allow for more complexity in glazing.
One more set of mugs to make this week. These will have undulating bands creating a horizon line around the circumference of the body. Must work quickly. A deadline fast approaches which means back to glazing by the end of the week.
