Ten small sets of tumblers were glazed and fired this week. Six of those sets were given laser toner cat decals and fired again.

Exploring the five shades of grey, the bold contrast of the black with the white and colours, the overlaying of images and the polymer additives that bring it all together. There is more to this limited palette than I first imagined.

It’s fun having this stock of cat drawings that can be scaled according to the needs of the moment and printed as decals. That was a month well spent. The brown tone of the cobalt free black polymer is in perfect harmony with the fired tone of the decals. It gives them that sense of belonging.

A week’s worth of glazing and firing remains. New discoveries are waiting to be made. Some things never get old. May it always be so.
